Shake Shack Now Has Fried Pickles—But Not for Long

For the first time in Shake Shack history, pickles are breaking out of the burger and getting their own spotlight.

Starting today, May 20, fried pickles are officially on the menu—marking the brand’s first new side dish launch ever. Crisped to golden perfection, the tangy dill pickles are made with Shake Shack’s proprietary brine, coated in a seasoned batter, and served hot with a side of creamy Shack Ranch for dipping. Pricing starts at $3.99, and like the rest of the BBQ menu, they’re only here for a limited time.

This debut wasn’t random—last summer, fried pickles were the topping that stole the show on Shack’s BBQ burgers, sparking major buzz. With one-third of guests calling them out and a similar number of QSR fans craving more side options, Shake Shack took the hint and gave the people what they wanted: a crunchy, briny upgrade to the snack rotation.
