Modelo Debuts Spiked Aguas Frescas

Modelo recently launched Spiked Aguas Frescas, a line of flavorfed spiked malt beverages that celebrate the fruit-forward taste of authentic Mexican aguas frescas.

Modelo Spiked Aguas Frescas are currently available only in Las Vegas in four varieties: Piña (Pineapple), Flor de Jamaica (Hibiscus), Sandía (Watermelon) and Pepino y Limón (Cucumber-Lime). All varieties are around 171-197 calories and clock in at 4.5% ABV.

To celebrate the launch, the brand partnered with Juixxe (Jesus Morales), who is known for gifting thousands of dollars to street vendors who struggled during the pandemic, to honor the roots of the drink. Modelo and Juixxe bought out Southern California-based street vendors’ carts last month, and then flew out and hosted the merchants in Vegas to be among the first to try the new beverage at its launch celebration.

“Honoring the brand’s authentic Mexican heritage sets Modelo apart and we know that without the tireless fighting spirit of street vendors, aguas frescas would not be the staple in Hispanic communities that they are today,” said Greg Gallagher, Vice President of Brand Marketing, Modelo. “Through our partnership with Juixxe, Modelo Spiked Aguas Frescas recognizes and celebrates street vendors for perfecting the beloved flavors and taste experience that inspired our new brand.”
