LA’s ‘Macheen’ Is Offering The City’s Best Breakfast Menu

Starting off your morning right with a delicious, hearty breakfast and sitting there with satisfaction smeared on your lips after that meal has to be one of my favorite feelings. It sets the tone for your day ahead — the need to sneak in a quick nap be damned.

Macheen, a restaurant with two locations in Boyle Heights, is the perfect setting for such a scenario to play out. The Los Angeles neighborhood is known for its rich Chicano history and culture, something that reflects on the Macheen’s menu with thoughtfully done Mexican food that’s fit for the hungry breakfast crowd. With a location inside Milpa Grille and another at Distrito Catorce — both a short drive from each other — Macheen is serving the local community some of LA’s best breakfast food.

It’s a bold claim in a city known for its breakfast and brunch culture and myriad of options, but one bite into any of their robust breakfast tacos, imposing breakfast burgers or flavor-dense breakfast burritos and you’ll see the vision.
