KFC: Video Apology from CEO Regarding Coupons

This video was just issued from KFC. I guess when things seem too good to be true, they usually are. Here’s what’s on their website as well regarding this “raincheck”:

We are so sorry, but due to the overwhelming demand for our FREE Kentucky Grilled Chicken™ meal, we’re unable to offer it in our restaurants today.

Please visit your local KFC to pick up a rain check form. Complete the form, attach your coupon and we’ll send you a coupon for your free meal at a later date, plus a free Pepsi with our compliments.

Your local restaurant manager will provide you with the form you need.

If I’m reading this correctly, with these new circumstances, you have to head in to your local KFC, grab/ask for a form, and then wait to get a free coupon (in the mail?) at a later date? Sounds like a ton of work for a meal worth only a couple dollars to begin with.
