KFC Is Testing Fried Chicken And Waffles In North Carolina

I’ve been guilty of buying a bucket of the Colonel’s Extra Crispy on multiple occasions and pairing them with some Eggos. There’s something about fried chicken and waffles that’s more magical than the first Shrek movie.

Looks like that bit of magic just became more real, because Kentucky Fried Chicken is now testing fried chicken and waffles in North Carolina.

Paired with Belgium Liege-style waffles and a serving of sweet syrup, KFC’s fried chicken is double breaded and open fried to give the cuts of poultry that signature booming crunch upon first bite.

Mike Wesley, KFC U.S. Senior Marketing Director, said in a statement:

“We know that chicken and waffles has a cult following across the country, especially in the south, but not everyone has it available close by.”

The tests will last through July 29 at participating KFC locations in Charlotte and Asheville, NC.
