For those who don’t already know, tragedy recently struck Grissini Restaurant in the form of raised hopes, shortly followed by dashed dreams and a stark glimpse of reality. On Monday, January 11th, 42 employees at Grissini began screaming and crying and laughing when they realized they had won the Powerball jackpot of $983 million. Or so they thought…

Unfortunately for them, it turned out that the numbers they read from the website, despite being the correct numbers, were actually the numbers from the previous drawing. As a compensatory prize for not killing themselves after discovering the truth, Kimmel reached out to them to learn what exactly happened.
