General Mills, one of the US  giants of packaged and grocery products, has completed a 51% stake into Yoplait SAS based in France, and 50% into an entity holding the worldwide Yoplait brands. General Mills has licensed Yoplait in the United States since 1977 and maintained its US operations.

According to General Mills representatives, Yoplait is the “second-largest brand in the global yogurt market.” And according to Ad Age, the average American eats yogurt 7.5 times a month, up a 1/2 unit from 2006.

FOODBEASTS, have you partaken into the Greek Yogurt phenomenon? How much yogurt do you eat?
