Foursquare Targets Foodies, Lets You Search for Specific Menu Items

Beginning Monday, you’ll be able to search for individual menu items on Foursquare. The enhancement comes via a collaboration with Locu and SinglePlatform. The latter enables restaurants to simultaneously update menus on the app, web and Facebook page. This prevents patrons from showing up and being disappointed when their favorite dish is no longer on the menu.

At the moment, over 43 million menu items are searchable through Foursquare’s database of 500,000 restaurants. So next time you’ve got a craving for chicken wings or cronut knock offs, enter it into Foursquare’s search box and boom: you’ll have the food world at your fingertips.

Well, almost. Baby steps here.
