How Chipotle’s Free Burrito Promo Totally Ruined This Guy’s Day

It seems like Chipotle can’t stop ruining lives these days. They had a nationwide closure Monday in order to hold a meeting and show the world they’re really trying to fix their E. Coli problem.

Awesome.

To make up for the closure, they gave out free burritos to people who text “raincheck” to 888-222, Monday.

Awesome.

Actually, not awesome for Hank Levine of Bethesda, Maryland, whose number is (240)888-222(?), which was dangerously close the number Chipotle gave out for their promotion.

Levine received almost 300 random texts from people in the area trying to take advantage of the promotion.

His inbox looked like this:

As an apology, Chipotle gave Levine coupons for five free burritos.

Could have been worse — Chipotle could have given him E. Coli, so we’ll count this as a minor victory, anyway.
