Chick-Fil-A Supported An LGBT Festival And Angry Conservatives Want An Explanation

Gays have been protesting Chick-Fil-A since at least 2011 when word got out that the restaurant supported anti-gay campaigns, leading to a never-ending war between the LGBT community and conservative CFA supporters.

Fast forward to 2015, a Nashville CFA store owner donated to an LGBT film festival and fans of the restaurant are confused as to why.

Level Ground is an organization that “Creates safe space for dialogue about faith, gender, and sexuality through the arts.” So by that description, you’d think there’d be some wiggle room for the famously-conservative restaurant to participate, seeing how faith is involved.

As you can see below, Chick-Fil-A is clearly being featured as part of the organization’s sponsors:

Because of this sponsorship, there are quite a few Chick-Fil-A fans who feel they deserve an explanation for the restaurant being involved with anything remotely LGBT-related.

Looking for an official response from Chick-Fil-A, over 720 people (As of this writing) have signed a Change.org petition, hoping that CFA will explain why it has “Gone gay.”

Of course, the company can’t do much to control what  individual stores do, as was evident the time a California Chick-Fil-A handed out sandwiches to gay marriage supporters back in 2013. If the company does respond, it’ll probably be with something along those lines.

Either way, they can piss off anyone and everyone, as long as they keep making delicious chicken sandwiches.
