How To Pair Your Favorite Halloween Candy With The Perfect Beer

Sure, some of us might be a little old to go trick-or-treating. However, if you’ve got a kid of your own to tag along with, there’s an exellent new way to enjoy that Halloween candy. Pair it with some beer.

Let’s Grab A Beer has a few ideas of what to pair your favorite types of Halloween candy with your favorite beers. Actually pretty excited to try these out this weekend. Though if you’re hanging out with your kids, you might want to keep the drinking to a minimum.

Nah, we’re kidding. Go nuts.

__________

Chocolate Bars with Caramel and Nuts

Choclate-Caramel-Bitters

Pairing: English-Style Bitter

Notes: The bitter has a fruity hop aroma and rich malt middle that plays off the sweetness of the caramel and chocolate. It also balances the nuttiness of the candy bars.

Peanut Butter

PB-Stout

Pairing: Imperial Stout

Notes: The stout has chocolate undertones that enhance the taste of the peanut butter candy. If there’s two sweets that go great together, it’s chocolate and peanut butter.

Choclate Bar with Wafers

Chocolate-Waffer-Ale

Pairing: Belgian-style Dark Brown Ale

Notes: The Dark Brown Ale is said to go great with the wafer bar thanks to its slightly sweet flavor and dark roasted malt. It brings the crispy wafter center of the vanilla into focus.

Sour and Fruity

Sour-IPA

Pairing: English-style IPA

Notes: When paired with the English-style IPA, the combination of sour and fruity candies set off by a dry malt middle balancing the flavors and allowing for a long hop finish.

Sweet and Fruity

Sweet-Fruity-Pilsner

Pairing: German-style Pilsner

Notes: German-style Pilsner has a round malt character and a robust hop bitterness that makes it a nice pairing for sweets like candy vines. The beer cuts though the sweetness and refreshes the palate.

Candy Corn

Candy-Corn-Ale

Pairing: Belgian Pale Lager

Notes: The Lager complements the ridiculous sweetness of the candy corn with its own malty sweetness. The result is a refreshing effect that uplifts the flavors of the candy corn.
