Anthony Bourdain Beat Down A Bunch Of Old Guys In A Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

Anthony Bourdain isn’t just a bad-ass in the food world, he’s a bad-ass in the martial arts world as well.

The 59-year-old Bourdain has been training in the grappling art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and won a gold medal during the Blue Belt Masters 5 Middleweight Division at the IBJJF New York Spring International Open Championship, this weekend.

First competition turned out okay!

Both Bourdain and his wife Ottavia, who is actually a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, proudly posted photos from the event, including Bourdain getting his arm raised.

Although it’s something he picked up, kind of because his wife made him, he took it seriously, trained with Igor Gracie and the world-famous Gracie family, and eventually earned a blue belt, which is the second belt of five in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

Yeah, it sounds a little unbelievable, but check out Bourdain being used as a test dummy in Kurt Osiander’s instructional video:

This pretty much kills the Bourdain and Guy Fieri “feud,” because we now know for sure than Bourdain would take him down and choke his ass out.
