7-Eleven Is Bringing Its Beloved Japanese Menu To America

Japan’s convenience store (or konbini) offerings are the envy of snack lovers everywhere. Onigiri alone trumps most quick-eats and that only scratches the surface of this proverbial snacktopia. Word on the snack-vine is that 7-Eleven is bringing its beloved Japanese menu to America and we’re talking a whole new level of munchie madness.

Think fluffy egg salad sandwiches, onigiri stuffed with tuna and mayonnaise, chicken teriyaki rice balls, miso ramen, sweet chile crispy wings, and many more. According to Bloomberg report, Ryuichi Isaka, CEO of 7-Eleven’s parent company Seven & I Holdings, hopes to duplicate the Japanese 7-Eleven model in the U.S. He wants to introduce fresher foods like sliders, ham-egg-and-cheese French toast, and chicken salad sandwiches.

Isaka’s ultimate goal is to rotate offerings seasonally like the company does in Japan. Fun fact: 7-Eleven is a Japanese-owned company.

On TikTok, there are more than 152 million posts about konbini foods and beverages. The buzz surrounding convenience store culture has reached a fever pitch. However, 7-Eleven has not announced when it will be gracing stateside locations with its Japanese menu. Stay tuned for further developments on this news.
