Is Bacon the ‘Everyman’s Caviar’? This Cute Infographic Thinks So

News of the bacopocalypse — err — the bacon shortage, rattled the food world to its overfed bones a few weeks ago. The folks at HackCollege have pieced together a pretty Infographic that does little to calm our nerves about a potential lack of bacon in our near future (unless your calmed by pieces of bacon in the shape of hearts), but it’s an interesting visualization that can be well understood by a 5-year old.

The graphic breaks down the potential rise in the cost of bacon come the year 2013, as well as a visualization of what terrible things will occur to us when we can no longer afford our precious bacon.

One of the most poignant, fun points made, include the affirmation that pork is currently the most affordable meat on the market. Considering society has immortalized bacon as the nectar of the people, it does indeed make sense to consider bacon the everyman’s caviar. Don’t ya think?
