Craving: Peanut Butter Bacon Sandwich

During middle school, I used to go over to this kid Jamey’s house. Jamey’s mom used to make killer sandwiches, but I remember the first time she offerred me one, she warned me that “Jamey likes weird sandwiches. You don’t have to eat what he eats if you don’t want, I can easily make you a normal PB & J”. Jamey came from a typical white-American household, I figured as long as they weren’t go throw something still kicking between two pieces of bread, I’d be good. I told her, “I’ll have what Jamey’s having!” She then proceeded to put together two sandwiches, a Bacon and Avocado sandwich, and a Peanut Butter and Bacon sandwich. Apparently, when you’re in the 3rd grade, these sandwiches are supposed to be from Area 51…but all I knew was that these simple, yet, at-the-time odd concoctions were absolutely delicious. A cold glass of milk, Sonic the Hedgehog on the new Sega Dreamcast, and the party was on! (PicThx KathleenJBade)
