Mike Tyson Endorses Evander Holyfield’s BBQ Sauce on 15-Year ‘Ear Anniversary’

Real Deal BBQ Sauce Evander Holyfield Mike Tyson

Almost 15 years ago to the day, the sport of boxing was forever changed when Mike Tyson bit off a hefty chunk of Evander Holyfield’s right ear during their rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  But since 15 years traditionally marks the end of the ‘too soon’ label for jokes involving bouts (haha) of cannibalism, Holyfield turned to Twitter to joke a-bout  the ‘Bite Fight’ and to conveniently promote his own Real Deal BBQ Sauce. Here’s the tweet from @Holyfield that mentioned @MikeTyson:

Apparently it turns out Holyfield and Tyson are chums now, ‘bros’ rather, which makes complete sense when you consider beating each other’s faces and ear-biting as bonding (bondage?) activities. Holyfield: ‘Remember that time when you bit my ear off?’ Tyson: ‘The good ol’ days!’

The Hangover star then reciprocated his love back to the former heavyweight champion and to his 2.3 million followers about Holyfield’s special sauce. I would imagine that Real Deal BBQ sauce would have helped overcome the taste of raw ear cartilage, blood and sweat. But how would Tyson have carried that bottle around with his hands taped up and pocketless shorts?
