NOT A STUNT: Man Suffers Heart Attack at the ‘Heart Attack Grill’

It’s not a stunt, despite the alarming, sick, viral appeal that would go along with a customer suffering a heart attack at The Heart Attack Grill. The downtown Las Vegas location was subjected to a 40-something gentleman who ended up having a heart attack during his meal.

Heart disease is absolutely no laughing matter, but are there fingers to point and people to blame? The restaurant does have an obtuse reputation — they even have a sign, right on the door that reads “CAUTION! This establishment is bad for your health.

The aftermath of the victim being wheeled out by paramedics, courtesy of Gerald Fish:

The gentleman, reportedly in his 40s, began to feel chest pains during his meal. The restaurant’s owner proceeded to call 911. The heart attack victim is reportedly alive.

For those unfamiliar with The Heart Attack Grill, it’s an overly unhealthy burger joint that brands itself as a conduit for heart disease. Menu items include burgers like the Quadruple Bypass, Flatliner Fries, and Butterfat Milkshakes. Meals can easily push 8,000 calories.

Dabbling with unnecessary excess?

We love food as much as the next person (arguably an unhealthy amount more than most people), but it doesn’t mean we sip melted butter out of a straw and deep fry our burgers in lard just to do it. The Heart Attack Grill pushes a campaign that it’s a ‘Taste Worth Dying For!

They even reward patrons who weigh over 350 pounds with free meals. Weigh 346 pounds? Gain a few more pounds, and then you get a legit pass to more food for the rest of your post-350-pound life.

Burgers, shakes and fries are served to you by nurses, and the restaurant’s owner goes by the name “Doctor” Jon Basso, an entrepreneur who’s definitely not a doctor.

Basso reports that even with their morbid, sick sense of humor and marketing, they would never pull a stunt like this.
