Edible Balloon

There are a ton of things you can do with balloons, including decorating birthday parties, inhaling helium for funny voices and tying a bunch of them to your house and floating into the sky in the case of imminent foreclosure. Or if you’re one of the chefs at Chicago’s Alinea restaurant, then you’re making next-level ballons that are entirely edible.

Even the string is made of dehydrated apple, so after you suck the helium dry make you can chew down the entire string of the balloon without feeling like a weirdo.

Thank God for this culinary creation, I remember how many awkward looks I got back in second grade when I devoured an entire balloon at the popular girl’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s. Not sure what was more weird, the fact that I ate an entire balloon…or that I wasn’t invited to the party I was at.
