Chupa Chups have a reputation for being hard to open. Well, the company is fully aware of that, and has decided to use it for its latest marketing campaign.

To help launch its “easier-to-open” wrapper, Chupa Chups has linked with the global advertising agency, BBH London, to release Chupa Chups Impossible, a lollipop covered in bulletproof material that’s impossible to unwrap.

“For years, people have been battling it out with Chupa Chups,” said BBH London in a LinkedIn post. “And now, to launch Chupa Chups’ new easier-to-open lollipop, we have encased 250 of them in the world’s hardest-to-open lollipops.”

The Chupa Chups Impossible lollipops are layered in carbon fiber, then aramid fiber, which is used in bulletproof vests, followed by silicone carbide, and then finally dipped in liquid rubber.

According to BBH London, “It’s blade proof, fire proof and can withstand more than 1000kg before even making a slightest sign of a crack.”

While they’re unavailable to the public, the new easier-to-open Chupa Chups lollipops have started rolling out and are expected at retailers nationwide by the end of the year.
