McDonald’s Is Giving Away Bottles Of Its Pickle Juice For A Surprising Reason
McDonald’s is taking pickle obsessions to a whole new level by bottling its pickle juice and giving it away for free. Yes, the actual brine from those beloved pickles from their burgers.
The Golden Arches is rolling out McDonald’s Pickle Boost in celebration of the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11. While drinking pickle juice might sound like something you’d do after losing a bet, athletes have long turned to the salty stuff as a potential remedy for muscle cramps during workouts and endurance events.
And with marathon runners preparing to tackle 26.2 miles, McDonald’s figured it was the perfect time to put its pickle juice to work.
Chicago locals and visiting runners can get an early taste of Pickle Boost on Friday, October 9, during the brand’s Pickle Boost Preview along the Lakefront Trail at 2401 N. Lake Shore Drive. McDonald’s will hand out the bottled brine from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT.
On marathon Sunday, October 11, McDonald’s will set up Pickle Boost Pit Stops at five participating restaurants throughout Chicago, where runners and spectators can grab two complimentary bottles from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT.
Participating locations include:
- 2635 N. Clark St.
- 1563 N. Wells St.
- 600 N. Clark St.
- 203 N. LaSalle St.
- 207 E. 35th St.
McDonald’s Pickle Boost will only be available during Chicago Marathon weekend while supplies last. So, whether you’re running 26.2 miles or just happen to be the kind of person who drinks pickle juice straight from the jar, here’s your chance to get some courtesy of the Golden Arches.
