Beyond Meat Just Entered The Protein Drink Conversation

Photo: Beyond Meat, Inc.

Beyond Meat has been exclusively known for its innovative approach to plant-based meat alternatives. However, with the announcement of “Beyond Immerse,” a new functional protein-forward beverage made of plant protein, fiber, antioxidants, and electrolytes, it appears the company has its sights set on the growing protein drink trend.

The drink will launch with three flavors: Mango, Lemon Lime, and Orange Tangerine, designed to replenish and refresh while on the go. Currently, they are only available on Beyond Test Kitchen, a site where Beyond Meat offers early access to new product innovations and limited-time drops, so it’s safe to assume that whether the company pushes full steam into the functional beverage market depends on how people respond to Beyond Immerse.

Here’s a breakdown of the ingredients:

  • Features protein from peas and fiber from tapioca
  • Each flavor will come in two protein options: 10g protein/7g fiber/60 calories & 20g protein/7g fiber/100 calories
  • Excellent source of fiber with 7g per serving
  • Excellent source of antioxidant Vitamin C
  • No GMOs or sugar alcohols

Could this unexpected move by Beyond Meat be the hit product it’s been looking for, or will it be overshadowed by an increasingly saturated market?
