‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Loses BMW Due To ‘Doughnuts’

How disappointed would you be if you lost the opportunity of a brand new car because you couldn’t solve the puzzle of bagels & doughnuts? To be fair, Americans probably don’t even know doughnuts is spelled that way because Dunkin’ has tarnished our brains into thinking the sugary circle treat is spelled ‘donuts.’

‘Wheel of Fortune’ is a classic night time show that you probably watched with your parents and know of because of Vanna White. Well, the game show is still running strong and a recent contestant, Tarhea, lost out on the chance to take home a new BMW because she couldn’t solve a particular ‘Food & Drink’ category puzzle.

Given the letters provided and those she selected, the puzzle she had to solve displayed “BAGELS & ___G_N_TS.” Her guesses included “bagels and beignets” and “bagels and croissants,” but she couldn’t figure out the correct answer, which was “bagels and doughnuts.” And we don’t blame her. Even the host, Pat Sajak, said, “a lot of shops have stopped spelling it the proper way.”

Of course social media had to tear this contestant apart and they did not hold back. “She missed Bagels & Doughnuts. Where do they find these people,” said one X user, formerly Twitter. Another wrote, “IT WAS BAGELS AND DOUGHNUTS YOU MORON HOW DID YOU GET IT WRONG OMG.”

While Tarhea didn’t get a new car, she did walk away with her cash winnings of $25,898. Not too shabby.
