Tesla-Inspired Diner & Drive-In Movie Supercharger Is Coming To Los Angeles

Los Angeles is about to get even more Tesla-friendly. Apparently, an Elon Musk tweet from 2018, where he mentioned wanting to open an old-school-style drive-in, is coming to fruition. According to Teslarati, Tesla has received the permit approval to move forward with its Diner and Drive-In Movie Supercharger.

The diner concept has been teased here and there by the company over the years. It’s said to host 32 stalls, two movie screens, and a restaurant with rooftop seating. Initial plans designated Santa Monica for the build before the location was moved to Hollywood. The permit states that it will now be located at 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard.

The delay is due to the regulatory process, which like all companies, Tesla must go through. Many of the applications Tesla has filed have already been approved, while others have received requests for corrections. In July, the company received approval to grade the build site, build walls, and movie screens as well. The initial grading inspection was completed and approved on August 9, which grants Tesla the green light to move forward.
