Most Famous Sandwich Shop In Italy Coming To Los Angeles

Following their first stateside opening in New York City in 2021, famous Italian sandwich shop All’Antico Vinaio will be coming to Los Angeles. Famous is putting it lightly, as this affordable eatery is one of TripAdvisor’s most reviewed restaurants in the world. It’s also a hot spot for tourists and locals alike.

Started by the Mazzanati family in 1991, All’Antico Vinaio in English means “at the old wine bar” and comes from a historical wine bar called Antico Vinaio that was located across the street from the original shop. According to All About Italy, after experiencing initial success, the family decided to purchase the wine bar to expand the business. Over the years, with owner Tommaso Mazzanti at the helm, it grew in popularity, spreading throughout Italy: Additional locations around Florence, Milan, Rome, and Turin.

The New York brick-and-mortar came after a pop-up in 2019, which turned out to be a hit, attracting long lines: Something the legendary sandwich shop is known for. Fortunately, Angelino foodies also got a taste of Italy with their own pop-up, which opened that same year, selling out everyday.

Following the success of their New York location, Los Angeles is poised to receive their very own All’Antico Vinaio this spring. In addition to 16 mouthwatering panino (sandwich) options, All’Antico Vinaio lets you create custom deliciousness using eleven meat choices, seven types of cheeses, several creams, and an assortment of fresh ingredients all served on freshly-baked Tuscan schiacciata bread.

While All’Antico Vinaio’s forthcoming Los Angeles location hasn’t been revealed, 18k likes on the announcement post is proof anticipation is through the roof.
