El Pollo Loco Now Has Birria

Birria has been booming on social media for the past couple of years now and it was bound to happen that it would reach the masses via a national chain.

El Pollo Loco has stepped up to give the people what they want and will be the first quick service restaurant to serve Mexican Shredded Beef Birria on its menu.

For those unfamiliar, birria is a traditional stew made with a combination of meat and spices and is often recognized as one of the most celebrated dishes from the Mexican state of Jalisco. El Pollo Loco’s Beef Birria is available in three new entrees served with a dippable birria consomé, which is a savory beef broth with garlic, chili, and lime.

Here’s the lowdown on the new birria lineup at El Pollo Loco:

Shredded Beef Birria Stuffed Quesadilla – Filled with El Pollo Loco tender Mexican Shredded Beef Birria, melted cheese, fresh avocado, chopped onions and cilantro.
Shredded Beef Birria Burrito – Filled with El Pollo Loco tender Mexican Shredded Beef Birria, cheese, sour cream, rice, beans, cabbage, chopped onions, and cilantro.
Shredded Beef Birria Crunchy Tacos – Two Crunchy tacos filled with El Pollo Loco tender Mexican Shredded Beef Birria, cheese, chopped onion, and cilantro.

Fans should act fast if they want to get in on the birria action, as the Shredded Beef Birria menu at El Pollo Loco will only be available for a limited time until June 1, 2022.
