McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish: It’s That Time of Year

With Lent in full swing, this 40-day span has become eerily synonymous with McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish sandwich. Many forget that the sandwich is actually available year round at most locations, but it isn’t until periodic price drops to $0.99 in select markets during the Lent season that the buzz around the fishy sandwich (?) becomes noticeable.

In fact, the sandwich has been spotted as a ‘Double Filet-O-Fish‘ form at various locations. The sandwich stands at 380 calories, 18 grams of fat and 640 grams of sodium, not necessarily healthy but curiously tantalizing. Filet-O-Fish seems to follow the same strange fan-obsession that the chain’s McRib sandwich garners. No one is particularly sure why they enjoy the soggy, not-the-way-it-looks-in-advertisement sandwich, but they do. I do. I love it, for some strange reason. How about everyone else?
