The BANHEMOTH Burger

When Food Network aired its original season of The Great Food Truck Race, it was major airplay for a Gourmet Food Truck revolution that we all happen to be a part of. From that show, two contestants definitely got some great trickle down effect, spending many hours on the road together, competing, eating and forming friendships. One was the Nom Nom Truck, the consistent favorite throughout the competition, while the other was a rag-tag group of burger-making badasses, The Grill ‘Em All Truck, who consistently faced elimination but ended up edging out everybody to become the champions by the end of the season.

Prefaced enough for you? With these two trucks appearing side-by-side at various events since their appearance on the show, there was bound to be some unofficial mashups from some hungry fans of both trucks. In this case, we’re looking at a recipe from our new friends at the Burger Conquest blog, who have paired the ingredients and menu items from both trucks to create a super burger: THE BANHEMOTH BURGER.

The final product comes from combining elements of Nom Nom Truck‘s Pork Banh Mi and Grill ‘Em All Truck‘s Behemoth burger. The sandwich’s end construction consists of 2 Texas Toast grilled cheese sandwiches, cheddar cheese, bacon, beer soaked onions, a bed of pickled Banh Mi vegetables, honey grilled pork and the 7 oz medium rare burger patty. I think this sandwich will make someone very happy. Hopefully one day this will be a permanent fixture on someone’s menu. Looks delicious!
