These Sunglasses Are Made from Used Wine Barrels

If you’re looking for a holiday gift for the wino in your group of friends — this might be it. Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wines recently partnered up with California eyewear designer Woodzee to transform previously used wine barrels into the wearable accessory. Available at Woodzee.com, the glasses come in 4 different lens tints (bronze, smoke, blue-green and blue) and cost a cool $120.

We actually got our hands on a pair — and have to admit, they’re surprisingly light and flexible. The finish of the wood has a slightly red tint due to the fact that the barrels originally housed Robert Mondavi Private Selection’s Coastal Crush Red. All of the Private Selection wines are grown in the Central Coast and include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Coastal Crush Red, Malbec, Meritage, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel.

Now you can actually view life through rosé colored glasses.
