Hispanic-Owned Restaurant Celebrates White People, Immediately Gets Bomb Threats

A BBQ joint in Colorado thought it’d be a great idea to host a “White Appreciation Day” event, because if there’s one underappreciated culture that needs a break, it’s white culture.

While you’d think a white dude would have been behind this, according to Fox News Latino, the owner who did this was a Hispanic man of Mexican descent named Edgar Antillon. Antillon posted a picture outside his restaurant that read, “White Appreciaiton Day! June 11th. Because all Americans should be celebrated.”

Antillon told 9 News that on that day, white customers would get a 10 percent discount on their meal at Rubbin’ Buttz BBQ.

His explanation when putting this up was that black and hispanic people get a whole month to be celebrated, so the least he could do was give white people a day to be celebrated.

Well, according to NBC News, this weekend Antillon received bomb threats over his restaurant deal, was forced to evacuate the restaurant and he later changed the special. The 10 percent discount has been extended to all customers now, but still under the premise of it being “White Appreciation Day.” He said he does not regret it and is not backtracking his original intent, but bomb threats will make you change some things.

It’s nice to see that he stuck to his guns, but it’s also nice to see that everyone can enjoy the white privilege, even if it’s only at a little BBQ joint in Colorado.
