Check Your Chicken, Tyson Recalls Over 69,000 Pounds of Strips

Tyson has had a bit of a rough 2019, recalling over 18 tons of their packaged chicken nuggets back in January.

Now they’ve got another massive recall on their hands, as approximately 69,093 pounds of frozen chicken strips are at risk of metal contamination.

There were two customer complaints about “extraneous material” in their strips, and Tyson felt it was best to just pull them all off the shelf.

The three categories of strips affected were Tyson’s Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips, Fully Cooked Crispy Chicken Strips, and  Spare Time Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips, all with a “best if used by November 30, 2019” label.

This is a Class I recall, which is the most serious classification by the USDA. A Class I means that it is “a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

If you have any of the three types of Tyson chicken below, take it right back to the store, and if you feel the possibility that you’ve been affected by its consumption, the USDA suggests you consult a healthcare provider.
