Top 5 Sexiest Food Mascots

Iconic food branding, go! McDonald's is home to Ronald McDonald, Starbucks has the siren, Carl's Jr. has the Happy Star. Subconsciously, whether or not you're eating fast food or packaged foods on the daily, we're indeed thinking and consuming the brand imagery set forth at an alarming rate. Through several suggestions of our readership and some internal humorous banter, we've pieced together a list of what we believe to be the 5 Sexiest Food Mascots across both Fast Food and Packaged Food industries.

Let the borderline chauvinism begin:

#5 - Ahh Wendy's, your square hamburgers are delicious, but apparently, some people think your mascot is equally delectable. Traces of her image date back to Wendy's founder Dave Thomas' move to name his restaurant after his fourth child, a young (at the time) Melinda Lou "Wendy" Morse. While Ms. Thomas is now a ripe 49 years of age, we're going to hearken back to our younger adolescent years and remember how cute we always thought the Wendy's logo was.

#4 - Next up in the race of hottest food mascots comes the Land O' Lakes Indian maiden holding a butter box. What makes her sexy, hot, tantalizing or intriguing? Not only is the girl gracing the cover a beauty, her attire is on point, her makeup is well done, and the backdrop makes use of an interesting infinite-loop effect. The combination of all these aspects gives rise to a rather well-played mascot and a perfect foodie-pinup poster. Too much?

#3 - With a history dating back to 1944, Miss Chiquita was created to put a face on one of the world's first brands of bananas. Illustrated by artist Dik Browne (ooo lala!), with her earlier renditions showcasing Miss Chiquita as an animated banana, now she appears as a beautiful, curvy personality with heavy brand connotation that includes years of jingles and branding that carries a heavy nod to healthy lifestyles.

#2 - Warmth. Home. Oozing country-side levels of sexiness. Those are the themes that come to mind whenever we see a box of Sun-Maid Raisins. The original rendition of the "Sun-Maid Girl" was based on Lorraine Collet Petersen, a high school student and part-time seeder and packer for a fruit company in Fresno, CA back in 1915.

She was spotted by an executive in the backyard of her family's home, drying her curly brown hair and wearing her mother's red bonnet. Shortly after, the company hired her to promote the company and they commissioned a watercolor portrait of the young girl to be the basis of what would become the "Sun Maid" corporate mascot we're so terribly desecrating with this article.

Something about a girl holding a basket of fruit in the colorful sun that just makes hearts go warm. In the years following, the Sun-Maid Girl found herself getting a remarkable makeover, appearing as an animated 3-D model in television commercials:

#1 - The Green M&M. She bursted onto the scene as a sexy addition to the Red and Yellow M&M's mascots. Voiced by Cree Summer, the "spokescandy" can often be found shedding her green exterior whenever the opportunity presentes itself. Every time her sexy legs are shown, or she slides down a pole, her Chocolate and Peanut M&M buddies try their very best to not combust...or...in their case, melt. You'll be hard pressed to find an unsexy photograph of this chocolate candy.

Oh yeah, chocolate is a rather definitive aphrodisiac. Convinced yet?

I'm sure some of you may disagree with the list, or may believe other mascots should have made the cut. Let us know your thoughts, re-order them the way you like, or suggest some better options.
