The World’s First Kit Kat Store to Launch in Tokyo

While most of us here in the states are enjoying the novelty of dark chocolate Kit Kats, Japan is once again way ahead of us with flavors like green tea, blueberry cheesecake and wasabi. Now, they’re taking things to the next level and opening the world’s first specialty Kit Kat store.

Named Kit Kat Chocolatory, the shop will be located at the Seibu Department Store in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro and open its doors on January 17. Among it’s array of no doubt fantastic offerings, the Chocolatory will sell gourmet Kit Kats tailored for each season. The unique items will include “Special Cherry Blossom Green Tea” using cherry blossom extract, “Special Chili” with chili pepper cream and “Sublime Bitter” made with couverture — a high quality chocolate made with extra cocoa butter.

According to Kotaku, Kit Kat’s new shop will be collaborating with pastry chef Yasumasa Takagai and sweet shop Le Patissier Takagi. Sigh, we’ll be over here breaking off pieces of our oh-so ordinary Kit Kats.
