Tekken 8 Director Addresses Demand For Waffle House Fighting Stage

Waffle House is known for more than greasy anti-hangover breakfast food. You’re as likely to end up in a heated exchange as you are to enjoy a Texas Melt there. Breakfast brawls have become a quintessential part of the Waffle House experience, and the internet is filled with countless videos that capture the pugilistic vibes.

Hoping to bring Waffle House’s signature setting to the gaming world, fans have set their sights on Katsuhiro Harada, the longtime director of the popular Tekken video game series. No restaurant lets you go from combos to combos like Waffle House, so it’s the perfect choice for a fighting stage. Fans were given a sliver of hope a few days ago when Harada posed the question: ‘Why do some communities send me requests for “Waffle House”?’

Naturally, the comments section went wild. George Alexopoulos offered a winning reply which subsequently received 917 likes:

To others, it seemed like the most glaring no-brainer ever. Tar Heel Joe is completely on board with the idea:

Sigmund Salvador, on the other hand, shared a hilarious gif that perfectly explains everything; no words necessary:

Harada responded to the hungry masses in a follow-up post, “The restaurant has both the trademark and the rights to the restaurant, so if the restaurant chain’s headquarters refuses to accept my proposal, it will not happen.”

So it appears that the ball is in Waffle House’s court for now. Let’s hope the company agrees with this potentially legendary partnership.
