BOOZY SHOPPING: A Target Store In Chicago Just Applied For A Liquor License

There’s a brand new Target opening up in Chicago and aside from from selling TVs and Rachael Ray baking pans, it looks like they might try to liquor up customers as well.

USA Today reported that a Target scheduled to open in October has applied for two liquor licenses. One of them allows for drinking inside the actual store.

While the Target confirmed that it did apply for the licenses, it did not say how it plans to use them.

Perhaps they’ll start selling beer at their food court, or give out free samples, Costco-style.

Either way, we might be seeing belligerent customers walking down Target aisles soon enough if our drunk college shopping dreams get executed well enough.

Chicago seems to be the go-to spot for booze hounds, as a Taco Bell in Wicker Park also applied for a liquor license recently and will be the first Bell to sell alcohol in-store.

Have fun trying to explain to your kids why that bearded man just threw up and passed out on the Avengers backpack you were about to purchase.
