Taco Bell Reveals More Details, Including New Items, About Their 2018 Dollar Menu

2018 dollar menu rollout

With the fast food value menu race heating up heading into the new year, Taco Bell is looking to get a jump start on their competitors, like McDonald’s and Jack in the Box, by launching their 2018 Dollar Menu rollout before 2017 even ends.

On December 21st, the first new additions to Taco Bell’s budget-friendly lineup will make their way onto menus. Two of the items will be national launches, while a couple of test items will debut in select markets as well.

As previously reported, Taco Bell’s Dollar Stackers will be available in stores nationwide starting next Thursday. The Stacker, which is best described as a tri-folded quesadilla stacked on top of itself, consists of beef, nacho cheese, and a three-cheese blend inside of a tortilla.

There’s also a breakfast version available that substitutes the beef for scrambled eggs, and bacon or sausage can also be added to it for an additional 49 cents.

Meanwhile, a couple of new test items will launch on the same day in Birmingham, Alabama. These Dollar Grande Burritos are available in two different options: The Chicken Enchilada Burrito and The Three Cheese Nacho Grande Burrito.

The Chicken Enchilada Burrito stuffs a flour tortilla with rice, shredded chicken, red sauce, cheddar cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream. The Three Cheese Nacho Grande Burrito has seasoned beef, nacho cheese, a three-cheese blend, reduced-fat sour cream, and red tortilla chip strips for an added crunch.

Taco Bell also unveiled another test launch, but this one will occur a little later than the Stackers and Grande Burritos. A $1 Cheesy Crunch Melt is heading to test markets in Dayton, Ohio starting January 4th. This item features your choice of ground beef or shredded chicken, nacho cheese sauce, creamy chipotle sauce, a three-cheese blend, and a Mexican pizza shell (cut in half) inside of a flour tortilla, served up like a taco.

All of these items will be available until January 24th, and is just the first set of items coming in Taco Bell’s 2018 Dollar Menu rollout. While they didn’t provide many more details, we do know that a total of 20 combined national and test food options will be added to the bargain lineup throughout next year. All twenty of Taco Bell’s current dollar menu items will stay put during this time span.

Foodbeast did reach out to Taco Bell to see if any of the cheaper, hyped test items from this year would make it onto the 2018 dollar menu, including Taco Bell’s fries and the Pop Rocks-stuffed Firecracker Burrito. They declined to comment on that for now, but we’ll be looking forward to seeing just how many of 2017’s most talked-about test items make it into the new year.
