‘Taco Donuts’ Might Be The Greatest Upscale Taco Invention Ever

One of the odder but tastier trends on the food Instagram scene as of late has been converting savory foods into donuts. We’ve already witnessed the viral success of the sushi donut and spaghetti donut, but this fancy new creation from the mind of a SoCal taco genius might take the cake as top donut.

High-end SoCal taqueria Puesto has created what appears to be the world’s first “taco donut.” Instead of a fried dough crammed with taco toppings and fillings, however, this is a $60 shareable platter of a half-dozen high-end, high-quality tacos served in the shape of the popular breakfast staple. I say high-end because of the fancy Filet Mignon and Maine lobster that get jam-packed into this insanely cool new item.

If you’re interested in trying this meal out for yourself, grab a couple of squadmates and head to one of Puesto’s three locations across the Orange County and San Diego areas. For a taco ensemble this pricey, this Instagram-worthy, and this decadent, it’s gonna be well worth the hefty price tag.
