Powdered Beer & Soda – Portable Drinks That Won’t Weigh You Down

The biggest problem one faces when climbing Mt. Baldy is that it takes twice the energy to get up to the top when you’re also carrying the victory beer you and your buddy plan on drinking when you guys finally make it. Wouldn’t life be easier if there was a way to keep volume and weight to a minimum, at least until you make it to the top?

Thanks to Pat’s Backcountry Beverages, you can now climb that mountain with (relative) ease and enjoy your drink. Offering a variety of different types of soda, carbonated water, and beer, the beverages are concentrated and stored in small convenient pouches. It even comes with a light, easy to carry, plastic bottle! Once the contents of the packages, which were exposed to pressurized carbon dioxide gas, are mixed with water, they dissolve and let out carbon dioxide to fizz up your drink.

The brand will release it’s powdered cola drinks towards the end of August, but looks like we’ll be waiting a while for the beer as they still need to find investors for the brewing portion of the alcoholic product.

Let’s hope they find someone soon, cause camping season is coming up and I aim to get drunk in the laziest, most convenient way possible.
