Police Intervene in Altercation Over Freshness of McDonald’s Fries

For Robert A. Quillen, fresh fries were of a right for him this past Sunday night at a McDonald’s location in Perkins, Ohio. But when police had to intervene later that evening, it seems his rights weren’t being upheld by this particular McDonald’s.

The altercation that ensued seemed focused between Quillen and the store manager Sean Rine. The fries Quillen ordered supposedly were not fresh, while Rine argued that they were.

Apparently unable to reach a reasonable consensus on freshness level, the manager decided to give Quillen his money back, but this customer was reportedly not going to leave until he had fresh fries to give to his wife. The Sandusky Register reports that this is when police were called to the scene.

Of course, when police arrived on scene the conflicting stories poured in. Quillen reported that an employee swung a mop at him, hitting him in the arm. Another witness explained to officers that an employee “acted like he was going to hit Quillen.” That same witness never actually saw any employee make physical contact with the customer, but also heard the customer call an employee a derogatory name.

With all this in mind, no charges were filed.
