Pizza Hut Predicts A ‘Swicy’ 2024 With New Pizza Trend Report

Pizza Hut always has its hands on the cheesy pulse of the pizza world. As with every year, a lot of pizza is expected to be consumed in 2024, and the popular chain is ready to share its predictions for the year ahead. Pizza Hut researched the top pizza-related trends and predictions that it expects will keep ‘za on your mind and in your mouth.

In its findings, the demand for sweet and spicy pizza pairings is expected to remain high and is up 38% in the past year. The demand is possibly due to Gen Z’s growing love for hot sauce, which according to Fortune Business Insights, has helped contribute to the market’s projected growth from $3.09 billion in 2023 to $5.09 billion by 2030. Naturally, Pizza Hut is responding by releasing new “Hot Honey” menu items that are sure to fire you up.

But wait, there’s more — according to Pizza Hut’s infographic, 35 states prefer New York-style slices, whereas Chicago-style is the favorite in 6 states. California, St. Louis, and Detroit show hometown pride by choosing their respective city’s styles.

Would you believe that North Dakota eats pizza more frequently than any state? Well guess what? Arizona eats the least.

To give you an idea of how popular pizza is, the average person eats at least eight slices each month with America as a whole consuming 480 gallons worth of pizza annually. The infographic continues with other fun tidbits about pizza in 2024.
