Innovative Pho Dumplings Kill Two Cravings With One Spoon

Phumpling sounds like it could be something creepy and sexual, so I’m terrified to look it up on Urban Dictionary. I’m just going to assume there is no sexual meaning and it’s just a soup dumpling made with pho.

Phumpling Co. is responsible for this little creation and they’re opening a restaurant in Williamsburg, New York, April 26 that will obviously feature these Phumplings. The dumplings are made with shredded beef and pho broth with either beef, or chicken stock.  The broth will also incorporate flavoring ingredients such as star anise, onion, cilantro, basil, sriracha and hoisin.

Ceasar Saingchin of Phumpling Co. told Gothamist  last year that they had been testing Pho Burgers, Pho French Dips and Pho Crostinis, but no word on whether or not they will be staples on the menu.

We’ve seen a few pho-inspired foods before like Pho Burritos, and Pho Burgers, so we’re getting pretty used to pho mash ups.
