Panda Express Introduces an Updated Version of The Original Orange Chicken Sandwich

Last fall, Panda Express drummed up plenty of excitement over news of a first-of-its-kind Orange Chicken Sandwich dropping exclusively at the Panda Express Innovation Kitchen in Pasadena, California. Though The Original Chicken Sandwich was deemed a limited item launch at the time, Panda Express has decided to bring it back with some new updates.

What’s new for this second iteration of The Original Orange Chicken Sandwich is a spicy Sriracha mayo replacing the spicy aioli, the removal of shredded cabbage, the whole crispy chicken patty being glazed in the iconic Orange Chicken sauce instead of being smattered with it and a brioche bun taking the place of the King’s Hawaiian bun. Why they didn’t glaze the whole chicken patty entirely in the first place is a wonder to me and was my biggest knock on the initial version.

Fingers crossed that the updates yield some fire results. The new and improved Original Orange Chicken Sandwich is now available only at the Panda Express Innovation Kitchen in Pasadena, California for a limited time.
