100% Bacon Patty, Cool Ranch Doritos Tacos, and the Most Read Foodbeast Articles of 2012

It’s been a year full of quirky food news, led by several food hack revelations that had the web in an uproar.

The top story of the year surfaced back in August, when we realized that ketchup cups could fan out to allow for a better surface for dipping. It was also the year of the shocker, as evidenced Southern California burger chain Slater’s 50/50 launching a burger with a 100% ground bacon patty topped with a thick cut of bacon, a sunny side up egg, “bacon island” dressing and bacon cheddar cheese — which subsequently got nationwide attention.
