Is 7-Eleven Overcharging You At The Register?

Simple pricing mistake or conniving overcharge? That’s the discussion brought up in this YouTuber‘s in-store footage documenting a large Slurpee purchase while attempting to foil a particular 7-Eleven branch’s miscommunicated pricing.

The 6:00-long video follows YouTuber BLUCHEEZ as he fills up on a Slurpee marked at $1.39 USD, but is later rung up as $1.49 at the register. The customer’s main complaint isn’t that $.10 price hike, but instead the price rung up was different and unexplained by the store clerk.

Here’s the video in question:

While this is just one report, at one specific location, of which could still be chalked up as a genuine mistake, this is not the first time we’ve been notified of incorrect pricing at 7-Eleven stores. In 2009, a Brisbane 7-Eleven location was charged $4,000 for illegally marking up prices. The video is definitely abrasive, but we aren’t sitting here chalking up every 7-Eleven to this level of accused malfeasance.

We all can recall a moment in time when the scanned price was higher or lower than the advertised price, if anything, this should serve as another PSA to keep continuously check your receipts. $.10 on a transaction may not be a big deal, but over time, you will miss those accumulated dimes slithering out of your wallet.

What do y’all think of BLUCHEEZ‘s video? Has this ever happened to you? Should 7-Eleven take note? Speak on it!
