Food Re-Imagined from Gummy Bearskin Rugs to Egg Roll Funerals

Subtle, thoughtful art is perhaps my most cherished. Yes, I’m a fan of the modern-day Picasso or the occasional instance of nude models dressed in milk, but really, the ability to captivate with the slightest of changes always thrills my imagination. The latest artist to capture our hearts? Brock Davis, an Minneapolis-based artist with a dog named Zelda, re-imagines everyday foods in the most whimsical of scenarios.

From gummy bearskin “rugs” to somber egg rolls, his work briefly takes us away from the ordinary by inviting us to tweak our perspectives ever so slightly.

Below, our favorites, with more to be seen here.
