Dutch Bros’ New ‘Pickleback Rebel’ Is A Pickle Juice Twist On Its Energy Drink

On April 1, Dutch Bros raised eyebrows with the debut of their Pickleback Rebel at more than 1,000 locations. Since the announcement landed on April Fools’ Day, many weren’t sure if it was real or just another prank. But after a few days of suspense, we can confirm—it’s legit. The Pickleback Rebel is a pickle juice twist on the brand’s signature Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink, creating a tangy, electrifying sip made for diehard pickle fans and the flavor-curious alike.

Tana Davila, Dutch Bros’ Chief Marketing Officer, explains the thinking behind this quirky release that’s leaning on the current pickle flavor trend – an undeniable phenomenon. “We wanted to have fun with our customers this April Fools’ Day. Is this drink for real or are we playing a prank?,” says Davila.

Thankfully for pickle fans, this is no joke, the energy drink seems like a genuine attempt at offering something beautifully bizarre to their clients. As Davila puts it, “We’re not ones for sharing with our customers something untrue, so this is the real dill.”

The Pickleback Rebel is available now at participating Dutch Bros locations. The caveat as always? This launch isn’t permanent and is available while supplies last. Whether you’re a pickle enthusiast or just in for a weird new beverage adventure – this new briny drink is a must-try.
