‘Cocoa Snow’ Rained On A Swiss Town Because 2020 Is Wild

2020 has definitely been a wild year with everything that’s been happening in the world. While many of the events have been negative, we did get one delightful, albeit bizarre, rainstorm…

In the town of Olten, Switzerland, a blanket of “cocoa snow” briefly covered the industrial section of town as particles of cocoa fell from the sky.

The cause, according to the Oltner Tagblatt, was a minor defect in the ventilation system from a nearby chocolate production site. This cause some bits of cocoa nibs to float into the air outside and spread out across the city.

Lindt and Sprüngli, the firm that owns the factory, said that the system had since been repaired and offered to pay for cleanup costs, according to the Associated Press.

The particles themselves are harmless to humans and the environment. They just created a unique event in which snow-like pieces of chocolate took over the small town.

With all 2020 has thrown at us so far, we’ll take a brief Willy Wonka moment.
