Alaska Distillery Creates a Vodka Made From Hemp Seeds

We’re not yet at the crossroads of a marijuana-infused vodka, but Alaska Distillery, a Wasilla-based company known for vodka innovation (they have a Smoked Salmon-flavored vodka), has just released their latest vodka, the first hemp seed spirit in the United States.

The flavor, Purgatory, utilizes distilled hemp seeds and a charcoal filter to create an advertised unique flavor. Before you avid 420ers jump through the ceiling in the hopes of being able to get both your alcohol and marijuana buzz out of the same bottle, the company reminds that there is no THC — the active ingredient in marijuana — in the alcohol.

Purgatory still pushes 40% alcohol by volume, so if you’re looking to get a buzz on, it will still do the trick.
