Adventure: Satchel’s Pizza (Gainesville, FL)

Every town has that one great restaurant people just continually flock to. Satchel’s Pizza is that restaurant for the city of Gainesville. Great pizza at a good price, what more could you ask for? Plus it sort of helps when it has a sick Junk Store in the back that sells everything you will never need in life. Check out the rest of the post to see what else Satchel’s has to offer.

From the moment you walk in you know that Satchel’s is a unique place. Maybe the table set up in a van gives it away, but whatever it is it makes for a memorable eating experience.

My friend and I ordered “The Mama”-a pizza that comes with your choice of four toppings. Our choice? Pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and bacon. If that doesn’t sound good then you can choose from over 20 different toppings they offer. Anything from carrots to tempeh is available.

This pizza is sorta a folk and knife deal if ya dig.

For dessert I ordered a cupcake size chocolate cheesecake. It was tasty. My friend ordered a classic cannoli. Her first ever cannoli I might add.

And now…the infamous Satchel’s junk store. This place has everything you’ve seen and thought was cool, and everything you’ve seen and thought was pointless. Chicken purses, bacon wallets, squirrel underpants and even yodeling pickles can be found here. The junk store sells one of a kind junk. It’s defiantly worth checking out.

Satchel’s Pizza is a great place to check out if you’re in the Gainesville area. On Friday and Saturday the wait to eat gets pretty heavy so I’d recommend going for lunch. This place is cash only so remember to bring your stacks. Great pizza, a cool store and just overall a unique restaurant makes Satchel’s an iconic spot.
