Diet Coke Releases New Can Design This Fall

Coca-Cola has one of the most iconic, celebrated histories the drink world has ever seen. In fact, this year Coca-Cola brand turns the big 125, and the Diet Coke brand will see its 30th year in existence come 2012. AdWeek reminds the world that the Coke portfolio is sold in 200 countries and is consumed 1.7 billion times each day, which further punctuates how special a complete design revamp is.

The revamped Diet Coke cans carry on the tradition of the previous cans with the bare-aluminum background. Colors haven’t changed, but an amplified minimalist design has taken over, zooming in on the existing logo, placing the “D” of Diet rests atop the “k” of Coke.

For the record, the actual liquid inside the can is not being reformulated. It’s just the look that’s changed.
