Angus Wars: Carl's Jr. Introduces BIG CARL to Smite the Big Mac

big-carl-big-macA few months ago, as we’ve been covering, McDonald’s released their Angus Third Pounders into the public arena. Ever since, Carl’s Jr and their team have taken it upon themselves to let the world know that their original “big burger”, the 6 Dollar Burger is a much better, tastier option. Even with all the back and forth (or more just Carl’s Jr. expressing their thoughts), Carl’s brings their latest weapon to the war…the “Big Carl”, an obvious nod to McDonald’s staple menu item, The Big Mac. Carl’s Jr. CEO Andy Puzder is quoted explaining this new menu item, “They came out with an Angus burger, which we feel is smaller and not as good (as ours), so we decided to come out with (something) like a Big Mac – only its bigger and lower priced.” (FFM)

The Big Carl looks to be offered at $2.49, and will contain two 3.5-ounce charbroiled patties, a couple slices of cheese, whole leaf lettuce (as opposed to the Big Mac’s shredded lettuce), no middle bun, and a seemingly similar (yet still to be tasted) Thousand Island-style spread sauce, all on a seeded bun.
